IMPORTANT SAFETY REMINDER ![]()
With recent heavy rains and flooding affecting parts of our county, Coshocton County Sheriff's Office wants to remind everyone:
TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN
Under Ohio revised code 4511.714 it is illegal to drive on or onto any public road that is temporarily covered by water if it is clearly marked closed by signs. Violators can face a citation, court appearance required, fines up to $2,000, and reimbursements to rescuers for any emergency response costs.
Even a few inches of moving water can sweep your vehicle away, putting your life and the lives of First Responders in serious danger. If you see water over the road, find another route. Your safety is not worth the risk.
Stay Safe Coshocton County.
